If you even just think there could be something wrong, give them a call. Let them help you figure out if you should look into vision therapy further. After struggling with anxiety my whole life and trying to treat it for a decade, I found information that led me to believe it might be vision related. Migraines, nausea, double vision, sensitivity to light and sound. I got a headache for 2 months and I lost 20lbs. I gave them a call almost 2 months ago. Although recovery is ups and downs, I've already had good days. After having so many consecutive bad days, the relief of just one good day has been overwhelming. This team is incredible. I can't say enough about each member. Every single person I've met at this office has been a beacon of hope, fountain of knowledge and an enabler for recovery.

I am very close to my one year vision therapy anniversary with the Center for Vision Development, and it has been the most amazing experience. As an adult with strabismus, I came into therapy lacking binocular vision and the ability to see depth perception. Throughout my life I’ve been bullied and treated differently because of my eye turn. I wasn’t sure what could be done at my age, but decided to give it a chance. After completing the initial testing, and talking with Dr. Browne about my goals, I was hopeful. Dr. Browne knew exactly what I was experiencing, which was refreshing as most eye doctors I’ve seen in the past don’t have an extensive knowledge of my condition.
I cannot tell you how excited I am that I have been able to work up the strength to hold my eye aligned (at one point hitting 88 minutes straight!) and also develop depth perception. My mouth dropped the first time I saw the shear mass of a huge thunderhead cloud rolling in; it wasn’t a flat 2-D image as I have always known, I could see all of it. Seeing the progress I’ve made brings tears to my eyes.
Each and every staff member that I’ve interacted with is absolutely incredible. I came in lacking confidence in myself, but quickly learned that the center is a safe space. I can work at my own pace and they are always there to offer support. My vision therapist, Sophie, is the kindest person. She listens to my concerns, offers advice on how to work through challenging vision activities, and has consistently reminded me of the amazing work I’ve done. She has shown me the importance of celebrating even the smallest of victories.
Thank you, CVD, for not only boosting my self-confidence, but also giving me the chance to truly see the world around me.

I had a concussion over 10 years ago and received a neuro-optimetric assessment and several months of treatment from the Center for Vision Development recently. They identified numerous deficiencies that I was not aware of and their treatment effectively resolved those and also helped to reactivate several visual brain centers that were previously underactive based on functional MRI data from a concussion clinic. The exercises I did at their office and at home also helped to resolve various symptoms I was experiencing such as frequent migraines. The entire team there was great to work with. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible during all of my sessions, and I'd recommend them to anyone seeking neuro-optimetric assistance.

Dr. Smith and her team are exceptional at all they do! Dr. Smith is the GOAT at vision therapy but her associate doctor, Dr. Brown is equally as competent and personable. I highly recommend CVD

When our daughter was in elementary school she had trouble with reading. We ended up find out that she was dyslexic. We found CVD. We met with Dr. Smith, she was so wonderful and helpful. After many eye therapy sessions she has excelled. From eye therapy to UT. All with the help of Dr. Smith and her wonderful staff at CVD.

My daughter has been with the Center for Vision Development for for 2 years receiving the very best care and vision therapy she can get. Her progress has complete transformed her visual, academic, and physical abilities also including her confidence over all.
Silence is a dear friend, and amazing therapist that we see at the Waco clinic. Each week my daughter is overjoyed to go see Silence for her vision therapy session. She is always so kind, patient, and encouraging; pushing her to strive to achieve her best effort.
Some of the improvements and achievements we have seen:
- She accomplished riding a bike just 2 weeks after starting by integrating some retained primitive reflexes
- better control of her eyes (from crossing)
- reading with much more ease
- less eye fatigue
- better understanding of numbers
- less letter and number reversals
- improved confidence in all areas of her social, educational, and athletic skills
- less frequent headaches
If you are looking for the very best eye doctors and vision therapists, this is for sure your go to!

Our therapist, Silence is patient, kind and very knowledgeable. She's been great with my son. Dr. Smith was very thorough in our initial evaluation and Dr. Orr was great with our follow up.

We were with the Center for Vision Development for a couple years. Started out at the Austin clinic then moved to Waco since it was closer. Waco was great. We loved Silence! She knew how to get our son motivated to work, explained all at home activities very well, and just a great person to chat with. Our son had quite a few vision issues to overcome and she poured her whole heart into helping❤️. We have since graduated from vision therapy. I would definitely recommend The Center for Vision Therapy for any vision needs/issues you/your child may have.
